Randy Caden

Randy has been with the Mariners for over 15 years and is the Cofounder of the L.I. Mariners.  Randy has been the head coach of the St. Joseph’s Golden Eagles for the past 9 seasons.  Cadens’ teams have broken many records at St. Joseph’s including 27 wins in 2008, a school record.  He has made the playoffs 11 out of 13 seasons as a head coach, which includes four regional and a world series appearance .  He has coached 10 players that played professional baseball, four All-Americans, 15 All-Region, 7 All-State, and over two dozen All-Conference players.  He has also been named coach of the year five times.

 

John Campolettano

John has been involved in youth sports for the past 40 years.  He has dedicated the past 17 years to the L.I. Mariners.  From his first meeting, where only one family showed up, he has since built the Mariners into eight youth travel baseball teams.  John does volunteer recruiting for the Stony Brook University Football Program as well as running high school combines for Long Island athletes.  John has a love for the underdog and a keen eye for talented athletes.

 

Ricky Caputo

Ricky joined the Mariner Family January 1st 2009.  He helped Randy and John open the doors to the “LI Mariners Sports Academy” and now holds down the fort as General Manager.  He Manages the 16u LI Mariners Travel team.   This, his first year as manager his Mariners went 17-14-1 overall with a Runner Up Finish in the NY City Babe Ruth Regional.  He has an extensive Baseball Resume culminating with his selection in the 2006 draft in the 24th round.

Sean Kammerer

Sean joined the Mariner family in August of 2009.  He is currently the Assistant Coach of St. Joseph’s College, serving under Randy Caden and is the recruiting coordinator for both the L.I. Mariners and St. Joseph’s College.  Sean attended Kellenberg Memorial H.S. in Uniondale.  He played all four season in Kellenberg’s baseball program as well as serving as captain in 99’, 00’, and 02’.  He went on to play college ball for Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT where he competed in the Northeast Conference and played his summer ball for the Federation of Amateur Baseball League here on Long Island.  Upon graduation, Sean played two years of professional baseball overseas.  He played in Sweden and in Australia.  He now serves as the 15U Mariners travel team head coach.

Matt Timmons

Matt played all Positions for St. Joseph’s College in NCAA competition  and held a .975 fielding percentage.  He holds a team record with 35 double plays at St. Josephs College.  Team Captain 2008-09 .  Matt Manages our 15u LI Mariners Travel team and is an assistant coach at St. Joseph’s College, specializing in Strength and Conditioning.  In his first season with the Mariners the team placed second in a regional tournament, placed second in FABL championship, and earned a bid to the Babe Ruth Regional Tournament.  Matt is one of our Senior Instructors in charge of Team Training and Private Lessons.

Danielle Henderson

Graduated from University of Massachusetts in 1999. 

 

3 time All-American, 4 time All-Atlantic 10 team, 1999 Honda Award winner (college player of the year), Holds 25 school records, Finished career 2nd all-time on NCAA strikeout list with 1,343, Nations leader in strikeouts per seven innings in 1998 and 1999, Set NCAA record for consecutive scoreless innings with 105, Ranks in the NCAA top 20 in strikeouts, games, 2002 inducted into the New England Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.         

 

International experience - 1999 won a gold medal at Pan American Games, 2000 won Olympic Gold Medal in Sydney Olympics.

Dana Degen

Graduated from University of Hawaii in 2000.

Professional experience

     Played in the Women’s Professional Softball League (WPSL), 2000.  Selected as an All-star catcher.

     Played in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), 2004.  Selected again as an All-star catcher.

     Currently plays professional softball in Italy in the Italian Softball League (ISL). 2001-2003, 2005-present. Two time league MVP, Gold Glove catcher, All-Star catcher, Triple Crown Winner.

Courtney Caden

Courtney is our Front Desk Manager / Marketing Director.  Daughter of Randy Caden Courtney has been on Mariners and St. Josephs College Side lines for over 10 years now. 

She is a 4 year Collegiate Soccer Player.  Courtney is available for private / semi private soccer lessons.  You will also see her helping out with our Rocking Birthday Parties!
